Jean-Louis Villecroze has been a resident of Canada since August of 2003. He was born in Toulon, France but spent most of his life in other cities in France. He discovered the world of computers at the age of eight. After toying with computers and programming, he decided to take on a four year university degree in computer science. The coop program through the university, allowed him to work at the Lyon Observatory in 1995-96 on the Oasis Spectrograph project. There he discovered the world of astronomy and space devices. That exciting opportunity led to yet another exciting opportunity to work at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Co. (CFHT) in 1998 on the Big Island of Hawaii. He returned to France in 2000 and began working on defense projects, coding in ADA, C and C++.

With ten years of programming experience, Jean-Louis Villecroze is ready for more challenging and exciting projects. His many ideas and his addiction to coding have led him to develop various software projects under BeOS and QNX. For the past four years, he has been developing for the QNX RTOS. All his tools are intended to make learning and programming easier for others. His solid background in software engineering landed him a permanent position in Burnaby, BC where he is currently engaged in very satisfying and exciting work.
