Annecy

Annecy is the charming part of the French Alps. With its canals and bridges, it may also be called the Venice of France. Annecy lake is also very charming. Lots of water sports and paragliding around the city. It was personally one of favorite places in France. There are forests nearby and for those who miss the outdoors, you'll definitely love it around here.

Annecy Lake has a perimeter of around 100km. Driving around it one can visit paragliders in action or small villages like Taloire. This small village is very clean, right by the lake and offers many romantic lakeside restaurants.

In and around Annecy there are a lot of castles just like this one. This was seen on our way to Les Gorges du Fier, 10 km from Annecy.

On our 8 hour drive along the scenic Napoleon Route from Annecy to Nice, we encountered beautiful sights of France I never thought existed. Lots of mountains, trees, wild flower fields of color, cows, even water falls down nearby mountains. It reminded me a lot of Canada :)
