For great food (voted best in Europe in 2002), funky architecture, style and art, go to Barcelona. The city reminded us a lot of Vancouver (large roads and "Starbucks Coffee" and Italy (narrow streets inside Barri Gotic). We not only enjoyed excellent Catalan cuisine but we also had Israelian falafels, McDonald's ice cream (50 cents!) and of course, Starbuck's drinks :) If you forget your flipflops, no fear - they have an excellent selection !
