Gondolas awaiting customers.
The "waterworld" city of Italy is as charming as the books describe. Taking the vaporettos or "sea buses" through the grand canal is just as lovely as riding the expensive gondolas. We enjoyed our "late anniversary" trip here very much. Three to four days is enough to see the city and its surrounding area as it is quite small.
